The last two weeks have been busy ones, but nothing really out of the ordinary. All the kids have been busy ~ homework, sports, friends, chores. There has been a lot of adjusting to the rigors of homework everyday and the need to turn it in! Jordan's master plan was to not do it for weeks and then switch out of the class. Imagine the shock he got when I said "absolutly NOT"?! Emma was hoping that we just wouldn't notice that all her science wasn't getting done. And Chelsea works on a daily decision of waiting until there is pressure so her "mind works better" (her quote). She likes to get up at 4am and work on it all then; a missed lunch period or a tardy is A-OK with her. Ugh!!!
This week Emma was 1 out of 7 chosen from 279 8th graders at her school to go to a day long forum on tolerance. It was put on by the Women's Jewish League and had kids from all over Texas in attendance. The teachers at her school met together and chose kids that they felt showed leadership skills. Emma was so excited! She had a great time missing regular school and getting to do something special. It didn't hurt that she got to meet lots of boys her age either. I should say it didn't hurt her ~ her dad wasn't too thrilled about the boys!
